Existentialist Essay
Meursault and Andy Duphresne both exemplify Gordon E. Bigelows definition of Existentialism. One of the most important quotes about Existentialism is I can say no, therefore I exist. Meursault and Duphresne are good examples of this: Meursault cannot say no to the conditions that surround him, and so, he does not exist; Duphresne can say no to the conditions that surround him, and so, he does exist. Both men show characteristics of Existentialism, but I different ways, at different times, and in different degrees.
